Explanation
of Holmium Laser
|
Variable
Pulse Width
| Variable
pulse width laser is an exclusive Convergent patented
technology which allows the clinician to switch from
stone fragmentation to soft tissue coagulation with
a touch of the control screen. Short pulses (i.e. 350us)
are ideal for stone fragmentation and minimal lateral
thermal damage. Long pulses (i.e. 700 microseconds)
are ideal for soft tissue procedures with efficacious
tissue coagulation. |
Green
Aiming Beam
| Green
aiming beam allows the clinician to see the targeted
tissue in a red surgical fluid medium. Convergent engineers
have incorporated the latest green KTP diode laser in
the Odyssey and built in adjustable brightness to provide
the best visible contrast for added safety and ease
of use. |
Precise
Power Delivery
| The
solid-state switching power supply in the Odyssey 30
precisely controls the energy being delivered to the
laser cavity. This patented technology insures precise
power delivery and pulse-to-pulse uniformity. The Odyssey
30 power delivery is measured at the operating plane
or at tissue and not out of the laser resonator cavity
as with some other Holmium lasers. Approximately 20%
of the laser energy is lost between the laser resonator
cavity and the operating plane. Thus, Odyssey 30 is
truly a 30 watt laser at tissue. |
|
Coherent
60 Watt Versa-Pulse
|
|
.
. 60
watt Holmium: YAG Laser minimizes
deep tissue heating and the resulting thermal damage. Holmium
laser energy is fully absorbed into the first one-half millimeter
of tissue. Stone treatment is the primary function of holmium
energy with complete stone fragmentation of any and all
stones. Uses of the Holmium are included in Arthoscopy,
Urology, Stone treatment, Sinus, Gynecology, Spine, TMJ,
and General surgery.
. . Here are some points of
interest about this laser: Modular design provides performance
with 60 watt output. Compact size and reduced weight simplifies
transportation and setup. This is the new generation of
compact, high performance surgical lasers for urology, orthopedics
and ENT.

Indigo
Laser Optic Treatment System
|
.
.This
service is provided by Pacific
Prostate Treatment L.L.C. The Indigo LaserOptic
Treatment System is design specifically to treat symptoms
associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
in the median and lateral lobes. Its diode laser and
specialized fiberoptics form an integrated system
that offers a simple, yet intelligent approach to
the treatment of BPH. Interstitial Laser Coagulation
(ILC) is accomplished with the LaserOptic(TM)
Treatment System's unique tissue adaptive feature
that automatically controls temperatures and produces
necrosis at precise points within the prostate.
|
| .
. . .This
approach is designed to minimize damage to critical
peripheral structures, while preserving the prostatic
urethra. Overall, the Indigo LaserOptic Treatment System
provides a positive, economical approach to the treatment
of BPH. To learn more about the Indigo LaserOptic Treatment
System, click

|
|
|
.
. . .Has
applications in specialties including Gastroenterology,
General Gynecology, ENT, and Urology. The Nd: YAG
laser wavelength has urological applications for ablation of the prostate
and early treatment of tumors of the bladder mucosa. Other
urological uses include Condyloma, Acuminata, Ureteral and
Urethral tumors and strictures, Penile Carcinoma and lesions.
