We
are currently providing services utilizing the Transportable
STORZ Modulithฎ
SLX-T
Lithotripter and the Convergent
Odyssey 30 Holmiumฎ Laser System to create a "Transportable
Kidneystone Treatment Center". Also
available are new devices such as the Prostatron Praktis with
a 30-minute treatment time and Indigo Laser for BPH treatment.
We have found the shared services to be beneficial to Urologists

In
our effort to offer the latest technology and effectiveness in
stone treatment, SUS has purchased a new
Storz Modulithฎ
SLX-T Lithotripter with OEC
9800 C-Arm for digital imaging.
It is our belief
that this new Lithotripter is a vast improvement over past Lithotripters.
Our goal is to provide a "Transportable
Kidneystone Treatment Center" to facilities here in the
Pacific Northwest. This will include both the Storzฎ Modulith
SLX-T Lithotripter with an OEC
9800 C-Arm and a 30-watt Convergent
Odyssey Holmiumฎ
Laser System.
The MODULITHฎ
SLX-T has been developed as a flexible workstation for
modern urology. It is compact, efficient and offers the highest
levels of quality and investment stability.
The MODULITHฎ
SLX-T features a high resolution X-ray system using the OEC
9800 C-Arm. The X-ray source has a high capacity
for continuous operation. The image intensifier has an entry field
of 23 cm for a good overview for stone location.

solutions just when you want tangible improvements. The resulting
product is a balanced modular design which sets new standards
in decisive areas.

Although kidney
stones and ureteral calculi are frequently no more than 10 cm below
the body surface, unfavorably located calculi are found. These require
considerably greater depths of intervention. The large distance
between the focus of therapy and the edge of the therapeutic source
of 16.5 cm allows efficient calculus fragmentation even in obese
patients when other systems have reached their limits. The electromagnetic
cylindrical energy source developed by STORZ MEDICAL has set new
standards for effectiveness, dynamic range, constancy of performance
and reliability. This technology avoids the disadvantages of spark-gap
electrodes and guarantees a high degree of cost-effectiveness.
